The Blue Bird
By Maurice Maeterlinck
Touring December 2016 - February 2017
Have you the grass here that sings or the bird that is blue?
One wintery evening Tyltyl wakes to find a hump-back figure in his bedroom. She is obviously a fairy. Tyltyl must find the bluebird that makes people happy. And he must do so before morning. Tyltyl doesn't know about bluebirds, or where he might find one but joined by his faithful pets the search begins...
Lightbox Theatre presents Maurice Maeterlinck’s classic fairy-tale about happiness, perception and seeing the extraordinary in our everyday. Directed by Anna Marsland (resident director of Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time) this is a visually charming and magical show for young and old alike.

Want to be involved in the creation of our show?
We are holding an open workshop rehearsal on Friday 2nd December at Earlsfield Library (276 Magdalen Road, Earlsfield, SW18 3NY) between 2.00-3.30pm and would like local people to inform our creative process and share their own stories. As the show's protagonist is a young carer we would particularly love to invite Wandsworth residents who may be carers themselves. If you would like to attend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
